Vodafone are providing a free SIM with 30GB data for 90 days to students at participating schools and colleges in order to help students stay connected with their schools across the UK.
Vodafone have already given out free data SIMs to thousands of schools and hundreds of thousands of students as part of their schools.connected initiative, and plan to continue providing more until 31 January 2021 - while stocks last.
Please note: Only headteachers can make an application on behalf of their school or college for the schools.connected scheme. If you are not a head-teacher but know of a school that would benefit, please forward this onto them. Headteachers will be able to place orders until Sunday 31 January 2021 or until Vodafone have distributed all available SIMs.
To apply for the Vodafone schools.connected data SIM, headteachers will need to complete the simple online form. Each eligible school/college will be allocated a number of SIM cards which will be dispatched in January 2021. Only one order can be placed per school / college and once the application is validated, SIM packs will be sent directly to the school's address.
About the Vodafone 30GB Data SIM
- The data lasts for 90 days once the SIM is activated.
- The SIM can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot in a smartphone or used directly in a tablet / laptop with a SIM card slot.
- All SIMs are pre-configured to block age-restricted content.
- These are data-only SIMs and cannot make phone calls or send SMS texts messages.
- These are Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) SIMs and can be topped up later for more data.

Education trusts and headteachers throughout the UK have expressed major concern over home connectivity for students that have fallen behind in their studies due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions, especially in disadvantaged areas.
These free Vodafone SIMs are aimed at helping those students most in need to access their work from home, catch up on lost learning during school holidays, or continue their education if they are required to self-isolate.
This Vodafone schools connected scheme is open to every further education college, state primary and secondary school in the United Kingdom.
