Get O2 PAC code to keep number & switch to Talk Home network

Keep my O2 number

How do I get a PAC code from O2 & transfer my number to Talk Home?

Request your 02 PAC code from customer services by contacting them, either from your O2 mobile phone on 4445 for Pay As You Go, or 202 for Pay Monthly contracts.

Alternatively from a landline: dial 0344 8090222 for Pay As You Go customer Service or 0344 8090202 for Pay Monthly customer Service.

If you wish to use the 'text-to-switch' service, simply send the SMS text PAC to 65075 free from your O2 SIM to get your O2 PAC code by text message and begin the porting process.
Alternatively, you can text STAC to 75075 if you want to switch and get a new Talk Home number instead of keeping and transferring your O2 number.

  • O2 will provide your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) either by SMS text message, email, over the phone if you contact them directly, or through an online O2 login.
  • A PAC number is valid for 30 days. If you don't use it within thirty days it will expire and you will need to request a new one.
  • Your O2 account will remain active until your number has been ported over to your new Talk Home network. After the transfer is complete, your old O2 account will be automatically closed.

While you wait to get your PAC code from O2, find the best Talk Home online offer for you. Many of these exclusive mobile phone & SIM only deals are only available online, directly from the network providers listed here.

Got your O2 PAC code?

Provide your PAC code from O2 to Talk Home who will then be able to port your existing O2 number. They will tell you what day the transfer is due to take place (usually within 48 hours).

Important: Do NOT cancel your SIM only or mobile contract before switching, otherwise you may lose your current phone number and be unable to port it over. Once you give Talk Home your O2 PAC code, your old O2 billing account will be closed automatically when your mobile phone number is successfully ported over.

Note: Topup credit on Pre-Pay / PAYG (Pay-As-You-Go) accounts cannot be transferred over and so any remaining credit balance or bundles will be lost after the switch is complete. If you have any top-up credit left, one good option is to donate your remaining balance to a charity via SMS text message before porting your number.

Transfer my number to Talk Home

How to switch to Talk Home and keep my O2 number?

First get your Talk Home deal and activate your new SIM card.

Once you have done that, get the following information ready for the step-by-step instructions:

  • Your old O2 mobile phone number that you want to keep.
  • The O2 PAC (Porting Authorization Code) from your previous network.
  • The expiry date of the PAC number (valid for 30 days from the date of issue).
  • The temporary mobile number from your new Talk Home SIM card activation.
  • You may also need the new Talk Home SIM card serial number found on the back as an additional security check.

Call Talk Home customer support on 0330 993 7339 to provide the customer service representative with your PAC code and the existing mobile number that you want to keep when you switch to Talk Home Mobile.

Alternatively, you can request to port-in your old mobile number after you have joined by visiting the Talk Home dashboard to fill in the online form with your Port Authorisation Code and the phone number you wish to transfer.

Note: You may lose network service for a short period on the day of transfer. If this happens, turn your phone off and on occasionally, until you see the Talk Home signal on your mobile phone screen. This will indicate that the transfer is complete, and you can now use your old phone number in your new mobile network provider.
